Sako “The Chainsaw” Chivitchian

Sarkis (Sako) Chivitchian (born March 11, 1984 in Armenia) is an American mixed martial arts fighter with an impressive judo background and a knack for getting his opponents to submit in the first round.
Sako began studying judo at the age of 8 and is now an 11x National Champion and 2x Junior Olympic Champion. He was proclaimed the USJF’s 2002 National Youth Male Athlete of the Year, was the number 1 player on the National roster in his division, has placed 1st and 3rd in the Junior U.S. Open Judo Championships and has competed for the U.S. at the 2003 World Judo Championships in Korea. By age 14, Chivitchian took up wrestling, placing 2nd at the California State Championships and 3rd at the Freestyle State Championships.
